The main objective is to develop the metalprintingprocess™ (MPP) as a more rapid, low cost method for fabricating functional objects on demand. The project shall, together with Norwegian and foreign industry produce a MPP fabrication system with industrial functionality. The validity of the MPP is proven in two PhD scholarships at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a feasibility study conducted at SINTEF Industrial Management for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Scientific fields involved will be mechanical engineering, electro-metallurgy, computer science, powder metallurgy, classical physics, heat transfer, and sintering technology.
